Hey, thanks for the suggestions, Cleric! Rusty being healed by Fleece after he fell from the sky seems a nice way to begin the Fold. As per the fighting system, well, if you're talking about something like the match between Chaos and Bobbin at the end of the Loom, well, this is certainly something to consider. I'd also like some sort of a dynamic fight, where you could gain or lose advantage step by step (schematic after schematic ).

Hi ylvaon, and thanks for your offer. I'd really like to hear some of your work if it's possible. Your musical background looks really interesting, and I'd also love the idea of a "contamination" between our teams.
So, if you have a website, or a myspace or anything, let me know, please.

At the moment we haven't yet decided if we'll use a free host or a paid one.
By the way, I took a tour on your site, very original and at the same time crazy. I loved the crazy "stuff" section, in particular.
We'll keep you in consideration, when the time will come to build our website. Thanks for your kind offer.

Everything Forge / Forge Progress - Melting Pot / Legal issues?

Contacting Lucas directly is like going to the police saying: "I'm planning this theft at the Central Bank of Switzerland... is this fine with you guys?". Well, not exactly like this, but you could give them an easy way of discouraging you, by simply answering your email.
Obviously, you're free to do whatever you want, and you have the support of Moriarty, but bear in mind that the only thing to hope for is their carelessness.

Everything Forge / Forge Progress - Melting Pot / There are now 4 Loom Sequels!?

Ylvaon: for what it matters, I strongly approve your decision to proclaim the independence of your game from Loom, since the differences where far too great in my opinion. The story and cosmology behind your game always amazed me by the way... really impressive and fascinating, so I suppose it will be a great game, even if it won't be a Loom sequel. P.S. Hey, I want to have your regards too! I also showed interest in your work!!! @solarnoise: Diversity is good indeed! Can't wait to see all of these projects becoming reality!

I wish you the best for your project, solarnoise, and I confess that I envy you a little for being able to keep in touch with Mr.Moriarty. I'm glad that our projects are so different, and I agree that our games will very unlikely be similar in any way, since we use different plots, different techniques and have different goals. The Loom fan-community should be thrilled by the raised chances to see an actual sequel, at last, and the more we are to work on one, the better it is. And, yes, Chapters of Loom sounds SOOO much better than Loom 2!

Everything Forge / Forge Progress - Melting Pot / Legal issues?

Excuse me... I don't remember any of you two... pleased to meet you, btw!
I don't know which projects are you talking about, guys, but I may speak for the one I work on: I'm worried about the legal issues too, but it all depends if doing our fan-game will be considered as a possible loss of money for Lucasarts. The fact that it's free-ware doesn't necessarily mean it won't damage Lucas. Just think about this possibility: Lucas is planning to do a Loom sequel. You, fan-gamemaker, release a good fan-game in the meantime: some players could choose to play your fan-game instead of BUYING the Lucasarts' one.
If this is not the case, doing a fan-game of a no-more-profitable game is a benefit for the owner of the copyrights, instead. You make free advertising for them, and possibly convince some people to buy the original game too.
I hope the case will be the latter, for what concerns our project.
P.S. Changing names isn't enough. If they want to sue you, or force you to shut down, they can. The only hope is that they don't care.

Everything Forge / Forge Progress - Melting Pot / Random ideas

I'd also suggest, for inspiration: Handel :
classic and blacksmith themed Nox Arcana. For example:
Victor Smolski: The Heretic (Der Ketzer) For example: The Inquisitor's Dream Nevermore
I'd really like something like this for scenes with Chaos. Pain of Salvation : Pluvius Aestivus (Embedding disabled, limit reached) Gustav Holst : Song of the Blacksmith (Embedding disabled, limit reached) classic and blacksmith themed. Unknown (to me) author : Fire Dance (Embedding disabled, limit reached) Btw, Vakula the Smith seems a great choice, even if I only know Rimsky-Korsakov's version of Gogol's Christmas Eve and never heard Tchaikovskij's.

Everything Forge / Forge Progress - Melting Pot / Standard "Introduce Yourself" Thread

Hi Daji! I'm glad that fan projects work also as a way to share interests and knowledge about other fan games! And I'm glad you found us! Pixel artists and Loom fans are always welcome here. I'm sure everyone will appreciate your contribution. The only thing I must underline is that we're not following the adventures of Bobbin... we're following the story of Rusty and his struggle to banish Chaos from The Forge (TM) Thanks, we'll contact you soon! In the meantime, feel free to take a tour of the boards, and ask about everything that comes to your mind. Bye

Everything Forge / Forge Progress - Melting Pot / Mailing list

What about having one? I'd appreciate it a lot. When there's important news instead of waiting the team members to check the site, having a mailing list could be easier and faster. Of course Duke or me could also just send a mass mail, but that way every member could see what the others write.
