1  Everything Forge / Discussion - Chapter One / Re: Is there a walk thru? Or hints? on: January 17, 2014, 05:25:21 AM
I got confused with this: It's not only the epitaphs that are relating there's also the names. For example
And as the fire is burning bright
Glint Woodlighter
Another one:
When the sun is falling down
Sunshine Brassheater
Maybe they were meant to be related. I don't really know because I just looked at the order in the walkthrough.

I eventually used the walkthrough like I always do and always say I won't...
"sigh"

Yes! I took about a month to check this site again but I'm glad I did. Really looking forward to this and I'm glad to see some progress. Great stuff!

Yeah, definitely give it a read if you see it in your local library or something. I've never actually heard about Children of Men but I've looked it up and I'm assuming you're talking about the movie? Now this looks more like an action-ish movie but although Y: The Last Man has plenty of action, it is more of a character work. Without spoiling anything, Yorick travels around some of the world with his friends(well using that word seems like a bit of a stretch). The interesting thing is that as the comic goes on, so does the world even though it seems ultimately doomed to fail. Also it's almost a survival story just as The Walking Dead is. Now just a small sidebar here I'm talking about the comic as I have not watched the show or played the games or anything and I am only 12 issues in. Anyway although the characters have an end goal, it's very distant and the journey is arguably more or at least almost as important than the destination. Certainly though, the journey takes up the majority of the series. So, yeah, definitely a good read and I hope you get into it.

Anyone else just finish it? Apparently the forums are pretty boring so I just decided to try and talk about what was on my mind. Thoughts about the ending or the series in general are welcome. Please put spoiler warnings for people who have yet to read it. Oh, and if you haven't read it you should go that right now. Like, literally, RIGHT now.

Hello, Ruffa-Duffa.

Thanks for signing in and for the encouragement. As per you question, I don't have a definitive answer. The decision to continue working on Forge or not depends more or less on two factors:

  • 1. Managing to find a dedicated pixel-artist (which means having enough money to pay him / her or finding one that joins for free).
  • 2. Seeing people's interest. I can't quantify this interest into numbers but it will surely depend on both downloads and feedback.

Working on Forge has been very rewarding in terms of experience and personal satisfaction, but has had an huge impact in terms of time and money. I still believe in it (maybe more than I used to when I had just joined the team) but I have to be realistic as well.
Okay. Thanks for the answers. After patiently following this project for something along the lines of one and a half years just chapter one will be satisfying enough! Still, I'll see if I can get any of my boring friends interested. I doubt it though. Since one of my friends is the self-proclaimed worst gamer in the world and all of them will probably have the question "is it comedic?" on their mind I don't think they'll be too interested in Loom, let alone it's indie fan-made sequel. Still, worth a shot, for the projects sake!

This looking great! I really believe that you can manage at least chapter one! Questions: Are you still planning on only making chapter one, and then seeing if you can get someone else is to take over depending on the popularity of chapter one? If so what is your popularity goal and do you think you will achieve it?
