Hi there!

First of all, I wish you the best on this project, I don't think I've ever stumbled upon a FORGE project that actually looked promising.
I see you've had some hardships in the past, and are still alive and kicking. That fills me with ambition.

Unfortunately, I'm not so savvy with programming or graphic design.
And also I'm gonna have a child soon, so you know I won't have that much time.

But I still think I would love to dedicate the time I have left to such a team effort in the future.
To be part of a community what little skills I have can actually contribute to.
Hehe, we all like to feel useful... And damn, this is LOOM Legacy right there, how can you not want to be part of this?

Anyway, I can translate into french or proofread other people's translations.
I know it particularly well, have spoken and read english since I was a child, and have worked as a translator for video games for several years.
I also know other languages, but I think one should only translate INTO his mother tongue.

I am obviously a huge Loom fan, I had it as a child of course. The audio drama had its own french version, heh.
I've since played all the other versions many times, of course, and in several languages.
It has been my looong time dream to provide Italian and French dub to the talkie version. Someday maybe...

Also I can do voice acting in French, English, and Italian with little to no accent.
(Even gonna have a small part in the italian dub of a famous AAA game soon. I'll tell you which once it's out).

But that's not my day job, my day job actually gives me access to a GOOD recording environment and many famous italian voice actors. Again, some of whom will gladly act in several languages.
It should be possible to get some of them to record a couple of lines from time to time for free, I suppose.

I also work with effects, so I could apply those to pitch the voices, add reverb, whatever.
I'm not the best sound engineer around, but those are quite basic things. Still enough to make voices for characters like Chaos, Bobbin, or ghosts of any kind.

Should I post the audio thing in the other thread as well?

Also, I suppose I could give decent insight on story and dialogue, if ever needed.

Last but not least, the download links for the tech demo are all down, I'm sure you know about it?
It's a shame, I'd love to give it a look.

That's it for now, thanks for reading.
And good luck with everything!

Keep it burning, weavers, keep it hot!

Hey, nice news! I was almost starting to believe Loom hadn't been a hit in France. But yes, I was aware that there's a French Audio Drama, and I've listened to it as well.

Your services as translator are more than welcome, but even what you offer in terms of voice-acting is. Did you know I'm Italian? What you told me made me curious about your job and its whereabouts. You can tell me in a PM if you don't feel like sharing, or just don't tell me! Tongue

Anyway, I've got 90% of the roles for the demo already filled, and I'm just waiting for some people to complete some tasks (you know who you are) before starting the recordings. But of course, the complete game will need other voices, and some new ones as well. I hope we'll be still in contact when that happens!

Please post in the audio section as well, as you already suggested, and thank you for all the help you've offered.

Long Live Loom!

P.S. no, I wasn't aware that the download links where once again down. All of them.  Angry

Poor hosting and relatively huge filesize must be the answer. I've restored the old mirrors and added new ones. Thanks for making me notice, and don't forget to let me know what you think of the tech demo.

Speaking of voice acting...

Will it be possible to turn them on and off while playing? Sometimes I prefer to just read what the characters are saying, and imagining my own voices.

Of course it will be possible. The menu has an option to choose between "Text only", "Voice only" and "Voice & Text".

And I understand your position, as I do that myself sometimes, but rest assured: the voice-actors I'm working with so far are definitely worth listening to, at least once.
