Does anyone know where I can get my hands on an image of the PC CDROM (VGA) version of the original game?  I have come across a few versions with the audio removed or ripped/compressed into other formats (which isn't what I am looking for).  Being big Loom fans working on this impressive sequel I guessed someone here would be able to help.

Thanks

Loom is available on Steam for some time.
Sadly not on GOG...

I have the original / full length version in my collection.  What I want is CD / talkie version.  Like I say, I cannot see a like-for-like ISO available.  I have seen versions where either the exe is missing and/or the audio is converted to standalone files (for use with SCUMMVM).

I want to do a mod on the scumm scripts to restore the censored/removed scenes... maybe one day extend this to include the dialogue too.  But for the initial release just to have the missing cutscenes and some graphics restored.  Basically bridge the differences highlighted here:
http://steamreview.org/external/loom/

I want the mod installer to work with both the CD release and the Steam version.  The installer requires the talkie version, takes a copy, makes some changes and gives you a separate installation (i.e. won't affect current installation so can play either form of the game).

Does anyone know of a location/link etc where I can get the full cd image?  The links in an older post in the forums no longer work.

Unfortunately I can't assist you, as I've never played the version you're referring to, exactly for the reasons you're planning to do your mod.
The fact scenes had been cut, dialogs re-written and shortened, made it not very appealing to me despite the speech and I never looked for it.

I think I have that full cd image in my collection. rasteve, are you still looking for it?

I hope that someday it will be possible to see 'the optimal' version of Loom with VGA graphics (portraits added), FM-Towns music and EGA dialogues Smiley

Some years ago, reading this post, my past self would have immediately committed to create that "optimal" version of Loom.

Thank god now I'm a bit better at sorting priorities! Cheesy
